EBSCO Capital Invests in Cherry Street Energy

EBSCO Capital is pleased to announce EBSCO Industries investment in Cherry Street Energy.

EBSCO Capital has completed a majority recapitalization of Cherry Street Energy, an Atlanta, Georgia based business that sells solar power directly to large-scale customers, enabling them to stabilize their energy rates and make significant, measurable reductions in their carbon emissions.

Unlike solar panel retailers or solar contractors, Cherry Street designs, engineers, constructs, operates, and maintains the energy infrastructure, charging its customers a competitive rate for the renewable power they consume. It provides an easy-to-adopt platform that delivers businesses, municipalities, hospitals, and schools an accessible path to renewable energy without the complexity and up-front costs that are typically required.

“This investment strengthens our ability to support companies and communities across the United States which have set aggressive carbon-reduction targets and sustainability goals,” said Michael Chanin, Cherry Street Energy CEO. “Cherry Street has proven to be the solution companies need to meet their renewable energy goals. This investment positions us to help our partners move even faster toward a future where renewable energy will play an important role.”

“We are excited to have Cherry Street Energy join the EBSCO Industries family of businesses”, says Nathan Bouknight, Managing Director of EBSCO Capital. “Their goals and values align well with EBSCO Industries and we are looking forward to the ways in which this growth investment will accelerate Cherry Street’s impact across the Southeast.”
